Very preliminary "I'm back" post - I actually have more stuff to post from my last week in France, cheesy wrap-up, all that good stuff. But for now I'm at the Philadelphia airport, then onto another layover in Charlotte, and then Memphis! Phewwww
Ended on a very typically French note ... the nationwide train system chose TODAY for yet another train strike ... just to vex me once again before leaving! My original (and awesomely direct) train from Rennes to CDG airport in Paris was cancelled, so I had to go through central Paris. Which is kinda horrifying with about 140 lbs of bags ... but it worked out, found a few friendly Parisians, and then ended up taking a taxi from the train station to the airport.
Cross your fingers that my bags make it to Memphis - talk to you soon!!!!
