Woo Hoo for Packages!
I consider myself lucky to have friends who a) celebrate half-birthdays (Miss Tina Lee) and b) send birthday/Christmas combo packages months late (Miss Jessi Langsen) … these practices result in wonderfully out-of-the-blue arrivals, and I love it! Jessi sent a great little variety of surprises … hand-made shot glasses from Mexico, diamond-shape ice-cube tray, a cute shirt from Urban, a funky wallet/travel doc/checkbook cover, some haircare goodies from her line of trade, a copy of early March New Yorker!, and of course a CD of the latest faves on her music radar. Tina’s package included a much-needed, very-appreciated travel i-Pod, battery-less speaker (seriously the size of a Lego piece!), my favorite gum, and a CD of her latest finds. Merci beaucoup, les filles!!

I love the idea of saying we're celebrating half birthdays when your gift is just 6 months late. Extra month apparently tacked on by the postal service. BS.
